Planning a wedding is a labor of love, filled with countless decisions and details to consider. When my husband and I embarked on our journey to create a memorable DIY backyard wedding, we turned to the convenience and versatility of Amazon to help us bring our vision to life. From decor to practical essentials, here's a glimpse into the array of items we purchased to make our special day truly magical.

1. Newsprint Program

I made this program in photoshop based off of inspiration I had seen on social media, but you can get one done on Etsy. This newsprint paper is printer friendly, which made this last minute decision so easy and fun. Not only was it cute, but it gave our guests a little something to do while waiting for the ceremony to begin.

To print at home, you can find the newsprint paper here. (It was hard to find printer compatible paper, so I did the work for you.)

2. Simple & Beautiful Disposable Dinnerware

We wanted our wedding to feel as easy as possible, hence why we catered Olive Garden. But we also wanted it to have a sense of elegance to it. That's why we went with this black trimmed plate & plasticware set and black pocket napkins.

While we didn't have to spend a ton of money on them, they didn't look cheap either.

3. Individually Wrapped Tissues

We knew everyone at our wedding would be a bunch of cry babies, us included, so we wanted to provide individually wrapped tissues for each guest. Not only is it easy and sanitary, it definitely added a cute little element to the day. They were even better than expected, because they came with three tissues in each pack.

4. Contact Paper for Dreamy Pedestals

We had a vision—white pedestals with beautiful flower arrangements for our ceremony. Finding pedestals was a pain in the butt when we were trying to not spend a ton of money. Then we thought we could repurpose something we already had, and we did just that!

We ordered this contact paper to make it happen and it looked just as beautiful as if we had gotten pedestals already done.

5. Every Celebration Deserves a Disco Ball

...especially our wedding! The thing I wanted the most for our wedding was a disco ball. My husband wasn't going to let little 12 year old Mamma Mia obsessed me down.

About a week before our wedding, he surprised me with the perfect disco ball. and I couldn't have been any happier. It really made the party, a PARTY!

Stay tuned for part two of what we got to make our DIY backyard wedding happen! Including our checkered dance floor and drink roulette spinner.
